Lomachenko would have nailed him with a right hook as soon as Rolly dropped his lead hand to jab to the body. Nighty night. Even if Romero could have survived, it would have been a sustained beating from then on, Take nothing away from Romero but he was doing the same thing. Leaning slightly to his left while dropping his left hand and throwing repeated predictable jabs to the body. Any good orthodox fighter with a good straight right hand would have hammered him with a big right hand over the top of that low lead jab and any good southpaw would have nailed him with a big lead right hook over a low lead hand. It is a testament to Garcia's lack of right hand that he couldn't take advantage of an easy opening all night.
I think this comment fits in here. I'm not sure why anyone ever rated Garcia. He was exposed after his fight with Gervonta Davis. I always thought Garcia and Romero were both B class fighters. I don't mean that to be mean. They are entertaining, which has it's place in prize fighting, but they are not highly skilled boxers which I prefer to watch. I did think Garcia would be a step above Romero. I would say Romero has improved slightly, but not much. I would say current Lomachenko still had enough in the tank to beat Romero. Prime Lomachenko would clown him.
