    Round 3

Fegatilli has abandoned his strategy of fracking, now skirting the perimeter and hoping to lure Jacob in so he can pull a little Bastille Day action with his big wide left hook. Jacob is giving him a respectful berth and popping jabs into the air, but not getting close enough to connect with them. Fegatilli bows in close and rips hard left hooks across the stomach. Jacob counters with jabs and short-hopping rights. Left hook on the body from Jacob, grazing left hook up top by Fegatilli.

    10-9 Jacob, very close

    29-28 Jacob

Someone @ ringside. I don't know if they've said it since the 2nd, but they were repeating it for like a minute straight at one point.

That is like the fourth time Ma Chaîne Sport has cut from the live action to a shot of the corner men at ringside, for no apparent reason, lingering on them for a couple of seconds with no clear view of the combatants.

    :?

    Round 4

Fegatilli is loading up and throwing solid power shots, but giving away lots of activity to Jacob. Jabs and straight flurries on the outside by Jacobs, on his toes, moving constantly. Fegatilli marches in, posts up and starts gunning as hard as he can with left hooks and fly-fishing overhand rights. Some grazing contact but Jacob able to roll with the punches by moving, landing his light jabs and some 1-2-/body shot combos.

    10-9 Jacob, again close

    39-37 Jacob

This could end up being that kind of fight with very wide scorecards (meaning wide on an objective card, fair & square) yet competitive & dramatic throughout.

Jacob is just shading a bunch of rounds. He's just younger, more fluid, and more clever with the better ring generalship.

Fegatilli is going to work, though. Hard-hat on.

I actually think Fegatilli is the harder puncher, too, although in this match-up that is like being the fastest turtle.

Speaking of Bastille Day in the Tour De France there's always a breakaway, which is when a small group of riders get away from the peloton early and get a big lead hoping to survive until the finish. A French guy is always in the breakaway on Bastille Day, but the French even suck at cycling now and they always get caught. The last Bastille day win was for a Frenchman Richard Virenque about 10 years ago.

    Round 5

Fegatilli is storming the gates, forcing Jacob to swap uppercuts with him. Clubbing rights up top by Fegatilli. Jacob is uncomfortable but still giving as good as he is getting. Fegatilli is exhausted but going for broke, making a brawl of it on the inside. This is Fegatilli's kind of fight.

    10-9 Fegatilli

    48-47 Jacob

L'ultimo Sussulto di Ermano Fegatilli that sounds like an Italian Neo-Realist movie from the 1940's.

    Round 6

Fegatilli is staying in close and pelting Jacob with right hands over the top. Jacob flails at him attempting to push down and contain him. The ref warns both for bumping & grinding on the inside with heads & elbows as they get a bit sloppy. Jacob adjusts, taking a step back and firing piston combos straight into Fegatilli's skull, driving him back. Arm-weary, Fegatilli tosses both fists up in high roundabout arcs but can barely get them up past his shoulder, nor can he find Jacob's chin. Fegatilli is whipping in wet-noodle body shots, caroming off Jacob's hips and not slowing him in the least.

    10-9 Jacob

    58-56 Jacob
