I thought Roman won a close one too but best fighter in the world? NO. I wasn't impressed. Fight should not have been that close against that level of opposition.

For small guys, Loma is without a doubt the best fighter P4P. I would put Rigo above Roman too. Rigo skill wise is as or more talented than Loma but Rigo gets knocked down too much.

That is why I don't think he should be above Rigo P4P. Rigo handled a much bigger Donaire with ease. Donaire was top 10 P4P at the time.

You don't have to fight like Mayweather to be a great boxer, Jm. Gonzalez is a great boxer who happens to be more like Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. or Roberto Duran. He's not unskilled just because he doesn't move a lot or because he chooses to stand in the pocket. James Toney stands in the pocket and neither takes unnecessary punishment. Fighting toe to toe is a skill, probably a harder skill to learn than mere evasion. I don't know how you can reduce what a master like Roman Gonzalez does down to the level of a barroom brawler.

Gnzalez should stop moving up in weight. He did not hit hard at this weight class. Srisakes took a lot clean punches from Gonzales but he did not go to the floor.

Nope you don't Pacquaio is a great fighter who fights nothing like mayweather.

Gonzalez is very skilled offensively no one would deny that but Gonzalez has no versatility, he is a one trick pony who has amazing trick.

At no point did I label him a ballroom brawler, I dont understand why you think me calling him a first baller HOFer, an offensive jaggernaut is equivalent to me calling him a bum.

I don't think his atg maybe if you just mean at flyweight but as I only watch the big names down there I couldn't dispute someone who think he's a atg flyweight. He is not p4p top 5 for me, his defense is not strong enough p4p Ward, Kovalev, Crawford, Loma and Rigo all are more rounded than Gonzalez imo.

Imo he is 100% an ATG offensive fighters. Go watch he whole career not just the last few fights.

Its a real shame he only got the limelight this late in his career

He's fighting at too much of a weight disadvantage. I thought he was moving forward and pressuring the Thai most of the fight. That was a deliberate headbutt along with a few others yet he still fought like a skilled warrior. I thought he clearly out landed and compubox seems to concur.

I don't think that was a bad performance. It was better than anything Floyd put out in his last 10 fights. Too bad these midget divisions aren't held in high regard. If he was 147 he would own prime Floyd for example. What would Floyd do? He was battered around by Maidana. Gonzalez is methodical and precise.

Watch the fight without audio. Those boxnation guys were atrocious. It doesn't surprise me that the fix was in, at 10-1 that is decent money and all you need is two judges. The ref who allowed the headbutts may have been in on it too.

Moving forward is what Gonzalez does and all he needs to do. He makes his opponent miss and lands heavy shots consistently, easily out punching his foes. He does this with a level of skill that is not found in boxing anymore and his opponents have no answer. What more do you want? This is boxing.

Do you prefer Danny Jacobs' survival style boxing? "I ran and survived, caused no real damage and was only knocked down once - I win"

Hmm his opponents have no answer but he just lost..... loool

Gonzalez can do whatever he wants, I'm not his boxing coach I'm simply pointing what I see.
What are you talking about Jacobs traded with Golovkin he didn't just run around.
