Chang by early stoppage you say? Extremely unlikely as he often went the distance. Gonzalez is old school. If he's floored he's not going to fold.
You think he would have beaten Johnson? Can't see it. Just a whole other level in speed and explosiveness. Quite honestly, I don't know if he would have beaten Myung-Woo. Same style as Chang, but even more frenetic and crazy.
'Too Sharp' is overrated big time. No, Yuh was far more textbook in his pressure than Chang. Chang was the crazy one throwing up mad feints and throwing endless combos. Terrible ****ysis. Very bizarre statement, especially as Yuh himself is on record saying he wasn't in Chang's league. Chang is Duran, Yuh is Chavez.
This thread has crashed and burned. General rule of thumb. A forward moving aggressive with an accurate offense / fast hands and one that hits much harder ( Gonzalez ) is going to beat a defensive minded guy who does not hit has hard, tires to flurry off the ropes, and lacks the power to get the boxer-puncher's respect ( Chang ).
Yes, and soft-punching, high-workrate pressure fighters don't beat hard punching hall-of-famers. People talk about Chang, but let's be real, he got blown out by 5'2 Chiquita Gonzalez IN KOREA. Nacho Beristain got an offer from Johnson's people in which Too Sharp would MOVE DOWN to to 108 fight him. No Way.
Chang lost to Zapata in Korea. Zapata was from Panama. Why is this relevant? In Asia the judging can be rather unkind to the foreign fighter. Zapata beat him in his home country. The Korean judge voted for Chang, which is why it was a SD loss instead of a UD loss. Almost all of Chang's fights took place in Korea.
Chang was a teenager and not only was he unlucky in the first Zapata fight he was flat out robbed in Korea in the second Chitalada fight. Not that you've seen either of those! @slender of course Chiquita beat a past prime Chang who only came back for the money after an expensive divorce. Have you even seen that fight? A clear decision win for Chiquita where Chang was very competitive but had lost all his defensive reflexes.
Ummm....this is not Chang in any way, shape or form as anyone in this thread who has ever watched ONE of his fights (I.e not you) will attest to. You are absolutely insane. This may be the worst post in the history of boxing forums. I am....flabbergasted to be completely honest with you. You've seen one Gonzalez fights and no Chang fights. How dare you act like your opinion means more than a steaming turd.
That`s why I think a fight between them would be competitive. Yuh would have his moments, even if Chang should have more.
