He has his good points. Lower weights certainly are not one of them. Great to see you back on the forum again mate.

Thanks. Covid-19 is making us post online a lot more than usual, it seems. Unfortunately, it seems like some of the more insightful posters seem gone? Like GPater, Lora, Mantequila, et al. Too bad :(

Yeah it has. I've been trying to limit my use as it was going out of control haha. Luckily, we still have posters like Tin ribs, Scartissue and greynotsoold, among some others, around.

    What a stupid stereotype.

Ludicrous. Yuh is the same guy that said he's never lost a fight in his career. Generally speaking, boxers' psychological make-up is such that they think they can beat anyone, and they've never legitimately lost decisions even when every living soul think they got wholly out-classed.

Frankly, I don't ever recall an elite Korean fighter who said that they would've lost to a domestic contemporary in a hypothetical match-up. A more representative case is Chan-hee Park v. Tae-shik Kim, where both claim they would've won. Heck, even fighters who were clearly destroyed in actual fights claim x or y excuse and say they would've won but for those excuses.

In this case, Yuh has said repeatedly that he is not in the same class and would've lost regardless of the circumstances. Here's a representative example:

    https://www.huffingtonpost.kr/entry/boxing_kr_5ad6cc92e4b029ebe01f006e

"만약 맞대결이 펼쳐졌다면 내가 무조건 졌을 것이다. 그의 경기 방식은 나와 맞지 않는다."

My translation: "If we fought, I would have lost unconditionally. His style was all wrong for me."

Boxers do not say stuff like "I would have lost unconditionally" unless they really think they have no chance of winning.

Yeah, Tin Ribs I remember, as well as Scartissue (but I don't see him posting these days?). But I don't remember/know greynotsoold.

Scar basically limits himself to the scorecard thread (where he posts very regularly). Grey you might not know, but he is a very solid poster who has a great knowledge on boxing technique.

You're not too bad yourself, but @The Morlocks is obviously #1.

Is it True that Chang and Yong Kang Kim trained at same gym? Were team mates?

Mantequilla and lora were/are the same bloke. He very occasionally sticks his head out of retirement, he was schooling it not too long ago on a Golovkin-Hagler thread and a Canto-Ohba one too, I was well chuffed. @WhataRock still pops in too every now and again (great poster) and obviously @Flea Man comes in sometimes to mutilate the ignorant and hurt their feelings, which isn't for everyone but still makes me pish meself laughing. @McGrain is still keeping up the good fight too, he's long been a legend on here.

Raging Bull, sweet_scientist, Sweet Pea/El Bujia, Greg/Gpater, teeto and a few other top posters aren't around any more it seems.

Yes, both Chang and Kim were promoted by Madam Shin (or "Shim"?) who was a colorful - and a pioneering - figure as female promoter and a former model. She also promoted a number of other former Korean world titlists, such as Moon, Sung-joon Kim,Chul-ho Kim, and Yo-sam Choi, I believe. In fact, Chang was brought in as a youth to be Sung-joon Kim's sparring partner when he was a nobody and caught Madam Shin's eyes by beating the crap out of Kim every day.

Yong-kang Kim is also the head trainer of the Pusan branch of the Chang Jung-koo Boxing Gym, I believe. I don't think Chang owns or is even a major partner in the enterprise though. The gym probably borrowed his name with his permission.

I did not know Mantequilla/Lora were the same guys! I have not seen him post in a week or two I've been back though. Perhaps I will see him in the future.

Don't know WhataRock; and yes, I do see Flea and McGrain are still around.
