I wonder if this fight for Guevara is a one off thing or will he continue to stay at 115 pounds.

I wish Chocolatito would get out. He has nothing to prove.

A Warren fight would have been great. Warren is actually Top 10 at 115 and has speed and decent enough punching power to trouble Roman at this point in his career. I understand why he and his team elected to choose a far easier opponent.

I would have like the Warren fight to be honest. But Guevarra is a pretty good fight.

The way things went for him recently I'm sure he disagrees with you.

Happy to see him back, he only has lost to Rungvisai and many thought he won the first fight. He got knocked out bad and really, just looked plain defeated even before the fight began. But I still think he can come back at the top. Maybe not beat Rungvisai, but still he can do well with the top fighters out there. But time will tell

So Roman, you can't legit beat the big boys at 115, so now you're dragging tiny Light Flys up to pound on in a vain attempt make yourself feel better about yourself. Sor Rungvisai took his 0, his heart and his soul. This fight is repulsive, a fight against Marquez or Concepcion would be preferable, that shows just how crappy this is.

Sure, they are about the same size, but Guevara is ranked #4 at light fly, although he's been known to fight at flyweight too. I was looking forward to Roman fighting Conception, but I guess on Mexican independence day all the fights need to have at least one Mexican. Still looking forward to this.

Probably has to do with HBO and the promoters. The last two were both Mexicans, and it's a Mexican holiday, so that's probably a point of contention. Probably not enough money to get Roman/Estrada for an undercard, he beat Cuadras too recently, he even beat Rodriguez Jr who's sitting at #16 superfly. There are no Mexicans in the top 10 at fly either. Lopez is ranked right above Guevara at light fly, but he's already booked that month to fight Shiro. That's probably the thinking.

It could be business or it could be politics. Whenever there's an odd match up in the States fighter X is fighting fighter Z because they are both Top Rank or Haymon fighters. I don't know what promotions run Mexican boxing but they might be filling out the rest of the card and decided to do their boy a favor.

Yeah, a shot to **** war torn shell of Loma coming off of a brutal KO loss dragging up a journeyman in Rigo with several losses, one to a Japanese journeyman who retired shortly after, and the other to an inexperienced kid, and whose whose best recent wins being razor close SDish affairs against absolute losers. Spot on analogy Nonito.

Oh wait, I forgot.... that was two former undefeated P4P Olympic Gold Medalists going at it. Where the skill level is so superior it tends to negate size advantage. D'oh.:eusa_doh:

Roman will use his size advantage to bully and beat down a smaller fighter, who's been on a downward spiral, Loma didn't use his size advantage to beat Rigo, he outboxed him.

I was thinking about how, at the top, he "dragged up" 130 debutant Marriaga and one-fight-experienced Walters. But, yeah, Rigo too!

Dragged up? You mean that other notorious weight bully Nicolas Walters, who he fought at Super Featherweight after he'd already moved up to fight Sosa?

I'm just using the language of others to maybe get across to them.

That's why I said one-fight-experienced Walters. Although he weighed in at 127 for the Marriaga fight and thus was two-fight-experienced... Either way. You see the point. Marriaga and especially Rigo are big examples of supposed "weight bullying" from a supposed elite P4P fighter at the top of his game. I'm actually not mad about that. You don't see me regurgitating the same old same old. Because I'm aware of realities. Using it as a counter point. It ought to ring some sort of bell for ya.

They're almost all weight bullies. People are completely out of touch/ignorant with the reality of boxers' weights, cutting weight, rehydrating, ring weight, etc.
