Greb vs Robinson for me. And probably most of the forum. Who wouldn't wanna be at the Battle of Titans?

And Chocolatito would break down Lopez pretty one sidedly IMO. He's quite overrated. He had massive trouble with the inferior Nicaraguan Alvarez.

agree with both takes....and I would add that both fights are better than 2 chubby, tall, out of shape, unconditioned, low skill and stamina, uncoordinated behemoths.

As much as I like both guys, it would take a rare breed of boxing hipster to pick Gonzalez-Lopez over Robinson-Greb.

I mean Greb vs Robinson would also be pretty one sided in my eyes

The ever popular (unimaginable to me) Foreman vs Lyle and the lesser known classic of Shaver vs Tiger Williams would qualify as the low skill, horribly conditioned athletes with no stamina that I am speaking of. There are quality HW fights despite some of my venom towards the division. For example Williams vs Liston I & II is an action packed technical clinic in contrast to the slow lumbering punches in Lyle Foreman after just 3?rounds. The conditioning is pathetic really. I really enjoyed Nardico vs Norkus as well recently. But from the 50’s on much of the conditioning is pretty poor in a bunch of fights.

No way. I have never ever ever never ever heard someone complain about Foreman vs. Lyle. It is the equivalent of saying yuck to seeing Jayne Mansfields tits. Gotta be something wrong there.

dude after 3 rounds they can’t even lift their arms to block a punch, their punches are slow and lumbering “arm punches” after a mere 9 minutes. Don’t let nostalgia make this greater than it really is. They are practically falling over after every punch thrown. Let a modern fighter charge out in an uncoordinated center ring charge only to miss wildly (like Lyle 5 seconds in) and run past Forman to the corner and you would rip them...yet you give these lumbering oafs a pass!

It is 1 of the greatest fights ever. Putting a serious hurting on each other. You are taking yr anti heavy idea too far. The fight you describe isn't. C'mon man.

go the 3 50 point even Cosell recognizes amateurish when he sees it. Go to 18+ point they can’t even block a routine punch...c’mon.

at least fights like Holyfield Dokes are excitement. There are good HW fights but way to many unskilled and poorly conditioned fighters to be consistently great.

    I agree with this.

P4P is up for debate, but add in Greb's size advantage, and probably a stylistic advantage, and I have a really hard time seeing Robinson winning.

That said, I'm sure Robinson's sublime skill will still be seen, and how could I pass up the chance to see Greb against a P4P great?

You leave Luis Firpo out of this.

Or did you mean Whyte, or any other of dozens of top heavyweights?

That said, I will defend to the death my right to enjoy two fat heavyweights, giving it all, punching the **** out of each other.
