it was a joke really. While not a major fan of HW’s I don’t hate them quite as much as I play at. Firpo vs Dempsey was a fun fight and round...I dont think either fight here was exceptionally great in round 1? Outside of a historical perspective though. Personally just recently watched Tapia vs Romero and feel like round 1 there was more exciting than either of these. I do really feel nostalgia and historically important fights get overplayed in terms of “excitement” on this forum.

Sometimes I'm in the mood to watch Marciano and Moore throw haymakers at each other for 40 seconds straight than watch 2 midgets dance around and tap each other

In all seriousness what I like about the heavyweight division is how much stamina matters, and of course I like seeing a 180lbs dude beat up on a 220lbs dude

Have you seen Norkus vs Nardico?both but mainly the first if I remember correctly? I think the You should check it out. There was talk of Norkus vs Marciano a shame it didn’t happen, while I think Marciano would beat him it would have been fun while it lasted. Moore vs Marciano was a great fight...Foreman vs Lyle is “historical” I guess but far from great IMO!

Yeah i know about them, Norkus is on my radar, he has a strong resume but i think he would've been dismantled by '54 marciano, since he was held to an SD by Brion and lost to out of shape Charles. Him vs '56 Marciano wouldve been interesting, Marciano was past it by that time. Sadly he lost to Pastrano (not sadly actually i love Pastrano) and Marciano threw out his back (among other problems).

Say if Norkus (1954) had fought Layne (1951) how do you suspect it wouldve gone down?

I'm going with the little guys in this one.

I have no interest in seeing that caveman Greb in person.

I suspect Layne would beat him, but both guys might hit the canvas in it as well. Good action packed fight
