Yes, he's head and shoulders above the rest of the talent (or lack thereof) in the Jr. weight classes. I'd pick him to beat Calderon right now.
Yes, Roman is a hero in my country, Nicaragua. I have seen him fight there before. He has power and his style resembles his former trainer, the late and legend Alexis Arguello. I can't wait until Roman moves up in weight and challenges the likes of Calderon and the rest of the 108/112 divisions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZ7F2jZJsLQ&feature=related
Yeah he's awesome. I'd like to see him either unify some belts or move up a division. Preferably move up to the light flyweight division, where the competition is better and he will be able to get his name out there.
In my avatar <----------- He's vicious. He's non-stop action and he comes for blood. His left hook to the body and head is one of the best in the game. It's too damn bad the boxing world as a whole doesn't give a **** about the smaller fighters.
roman gonzales is a very solid little fighter, im just wondering why he was not able to knock out his 2 last opponents. l love watching the guy though, he needs more challenge.
Because you can't KO everyone, that's why. In his last fight, the guy was literally running away from him for a lot of the fight and he was also fast as hell so Roman had a hard time catching up with him. The fight before that, the guy was just one tough hombre.
:good He's brilliant. Check out some highlight vids on youtube. According to Jimmy Lennon Jr the other day in an interview with Al Bernstein, he said Gonzalez had never lost as an amateur. I don't know if this is true but if it is then it is incredible.
