Roman Greenberg

I've only seen the guy twice he seems technically solid but a little slow and small for a modern heavy. I think Haye and Harrison would beat him, Skelton and Williams would have a decent shot at wearing him down. I havn't seen too much of Sprott recently to make a call on him...

 

He is plodding heavyweight with average hand speed and average power. Doesn't do anything that well to suggest he will beat anyone of a decent level.

Haye would stop him. Skelton would probably grind him down and win a decision. Williams is capable of beating him and Sprott also has the potential to beat him.

 

He would be beaten by all of these guys. Yes even Audley Harrison. His record is full of very moderate opposition, yet he struggles to look good in any of his fights.
He seems to have no ambition whatsoever and it is unlikely he will ever have the balls to face a "live" opponent. He is no more than a journeyman who is always matched to win.

 

He is very slow and boring to watch. I think he stands no chance against any half decent British HW.

 

Roman bores me to tears, sadly he is yet to take a chance against a live opponent and probably never will, he boxes weak guys to pick up a pay check. He will never win a real title, he won't even be remembered by hardcore boxing fans as he's just to lazy to make an effort.
In fact I'm 12 stone and would fight him tommorow as I know he'd only do enough to win the fight he would never try and finish it. He's the Tim Sylvia of boxing.

 

He is very boring to watch, so he should fit in with are heavyweights, on Eurosport the commentator compared him with LL in some way, i remember it made me chuckle.

 

Several years ago I read an article about Greenberg where Angelo Dundee described him as having "Ali-like hand speed."

What a joke!

 

Seconds out (isnt it) have some affiliation with him. they describe his next fights as "roman fights the amazing ... <insert shoddy boxer name here> " Im sure they also once described him as the first billion dollar heavyweight. More like two-bob boxer.

I think my real dislike came after I'd read these reports hyping him up, watched him fight, he was very dissapointing. There was talk of him fighting klitchko not so long back wasnt there. Would loved to have seen that.

As a side, talking of Ali type modern fighters, what happened to Clay-Bey - remember him? He was tyled on Ali. Same shorts, style etc... just nowhere near as good.
he did actualy KO Mesi in the American am finals, went to the olympics, got to the final but lost to Wlad. I think he dropped wlad in that fight too.

 

Apparently Greenberg is to undergo a hand operation that will keep him out of action until at least Feb 2008 - ongoing injury.

 

Watched him in probably the worst fight ever against Damon Reed where he was completely frustrated against a poor opponent. He seriously needs to step up to more quality opposition to test himself but i cant see it. He would be beaten by all the names mentioned above!

 

He's outrageously dull in his offense; in his defense, he does everything that Vitali did wrong without the height or reflexes to make up for it. Unless he has an iron chin, and some boxing brilliance that he's been hiding during all these years of fighting no-hopers, he's going nowhere.

Based on what I've seen of him (which goes back a considerable way) I'd pick both an in-shape Skelton and an in-shape Williams to beat him. Fraudley-Greenbore would be a disgustingly bad fight. Haye would likely spark him out.

 

That may have been an outlandish claim in 2004, but Ali's hand speed has slowed down a lot in the last 3 years.
