Damn, I was still thinking Karmazin was fighting Piccirillo. This is a hell of a match up. Garcia may be limited, but he comes to fight and can really bang. I think action wise this could be one of the best fights this year. Can't wait... :bbb
Garcia will get KTFO and easy. btw anyone know if the fight is at middleweight or light middleweight?
De La Hoya didnt want to fight him,Cory Spinks didnt deserve to be called the winnner over him,and last but not least Roman didnt get the attention he deserved after he had beaten Ouma. Don King doesnt really seem to think that highly of his Russian contract fighter. What a pity! Karmazin is one of the most underrated top fighters out there. He for sure deserves some good paydays against known names instead of being inactive and out of the game for such a long time.
That is the general problem with american boxing media/public!! to them, pro boxing is more show than sport. you gotta be a tv personality to be a "wanted" boxer!! you either have to be crazy (like mayorga), totally outragous (like camacho), super pretty (like oscar and mia st.john ) or at least be a wild slugger who makes for great give and take action like gatti. just being good wont do, simple as that. and thats the problem with easter euro fighters: they can fight........but they score very low in "tv personality" ratings.
Yea eastern euro are the best "technical" boxers out there but since they are boring to the majority, people don't wanna hear about them. That's sad but a slugfest is more interesting than lets say; Wright-Hopkins.
nothing much. probably that the vacant WBA Inter-Continental light middleweight title is one the line for garcia only. so, yeah...nothing much. if it were anything dire like the fight being cancelled, it'd have become news by now. in the video it was unclear what happened after the initial failed attempt. he was only in his underwear the first time he stepped on the scale. :think
Well, most fighters from the former soviet union cant speak English that well. Guess that is a very important factor in their bad markebility over there in the USA. On the other hand fighters like the Klitschko brothers are household names in quite a lot of countries. They are charming, intelligent, and clever human beings who appeal to casual sport fans in most countries out of the USA where primitive thugs with gold chains around their necks weirdly get more media attention than well behaved boxers. Of course fighters like Povetkin,or Dimitrenko are quite dull and boring. They look as though butter would not melt in their mouths.Their interviews are better than most sleeping pills, and you get bored silly watching them outside a box ring.
