champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez is disputing reports that he agreed to fight Ricky Burns on September 4 in Scotland. According to Ivan Rivera, president of PR Best Boxing, an offer was made by Burns' promoter Frank Warren and they are considering the proposal. "An offer was made to us and we are considering it.They have a date and place,September 4 in Scotland." Rivera told El nuevo dia. " It seems like very reasonable offer, but ROCKY has the last word." According to reports,ROCKY has said no to the offer.Martinez doesn't have a problem with fighting burns on Sept 4,but he was under the impression the fight will take place in Puerto Rico.Martinez took issue when he was told that the fight will take place overseas, for the same amount of money as he would been paid to fight Burns in Puerto Rico.....We had an agreement. we have agreed that the fight would take place in P.R. But peter Rivera,(vice president) of PR best boxing spoke with my manager and told him that i had to fight for the same amount of money, but in England. That can not be. " Ill fight anywhere in the world, but you have to negotiate,IF there is a good offer,Im going to England. But I've now won a title and he can come here now." martinez said.

Warren owns the rights to the fight he was awarded the purse bids. Martinez has to fight or he will get stripped of the title.

So you saying you agree that Martinez should fight overseas even though he already fought there to win a world title? You think that's fair??
