Robert Guerrero, Danny Garcia, Marcos Maidana, Devon Alexander, Alfredo Angulo and Saul Alvarez, hahahaha
Even if this is a joke, I won't be surprised if it's not. Mayweather moved to Showtime to pick opponents willingly.
If he beats Guerrero and then Canelo he will be the clear fighter of the year. Not bad for a 36 year old who picks and chooses.
Nothing wrong with that list. News flash guys, there really isn't a lot out there. Didn't he have a list when he came back in 09? One that included Mosley, Ortiz, Marquez and Cotto?
Alfredo Angulo where the hell did that come from? Devon doesn't deserve a big fight, and Floyd doesn't need this fight either. He won't have to worry about Alvarez. Trout is going to beat Alvarez
Guerrero is a joke opponent, feel free to praise that fight all you want it's as big of a joke as Ortiz(which many people, surely yourself included, thought of it as a serious affair). The Canelo fight will be a great fight if Canelo fights and beats Trout, otherwise this will be Canelo's first step-up fight ever.
Maidana, Angulo, Alexander and Garcia are joke opponents. Half of these guys aren't even welterweights for crying out loud, this is a comical list. I'd rather see him fight some guys at 154 or Martinez.
Let me guess, you want Sergio and GGG? Sure that would be great but Floyd isn't a middleweight and as you have seen he isn't as effective at 154 as he has been at lower weights. There is nothing wrong with his list and Guerrero as his opponent. Like I said, there isn't another fighter on the planet who will fight the level of opposition that Floyd will this year, assuming Canelo happens.
Trust me, I know he's not affective at 154 as he is at lower weights, I've noticed that clearly since the DLH fight, the Cotto fight further proved it. Then again, if he has Canelo as an option, surely it will happen at 154 so he might as well mix it up there rather than fighting no-hopers at 147. Sure it will pay him off well, but it won't fool all fans. I wouldn't be surprised if he fights Alvarez even if he loses to Trout. At this stage, nothing should be shocking from Mayweather. We don't know if there's another fighter who will fight the level of opposition Mayweather plans to(especially based on assumption) because it's too early. However, I further insist that Guerrero is a joke opponent like Ortiz was back when people were buying into the "Young hungry lion" nonsense. This is Guerrero's third fight at welterweight and his career defining moment was recently against Berto, that's all you need to know right there.
