Couldn't see a thread on this so apologies if it's a duplicate. Seems that Ron Lewis, the boxing writer, died suddenly yesterday at the young age of 54. I always enjoyed Ron's reports in The Times where he seemed to get the flexibility to post his thoughts on Sunday or Monday rather than rush out copy straight after a Saturday fight night. He went freelance and became a good independent voice in the circuit, notably during the Benn cancellation saga last October where he wasn't shy of appearing and sharing blunt views on the YouTube channels. Sad news, RIP.
He was well-enough regarded that there's an empty-chair tribute to him at ringside from Boxxer tonight.
thats a nice touch that mate isn't it... i'll need to read up on his articles. Very sad for his family.
Nice tribute Bob. Danny Flexen did a really nice one on Seconds Out and a family member of his commented saying it was appreciated. Sounds like a big presence has been lost.
