    Thanks for the link. That was a fun read! I agree that Dempsey was faster and had more stylistic talents to draw from. I think the weight difference would not be a factor. I see Marciano lasting longer than that, but sustaining some serious damage early in the fight. That early damage would be the deciding factor as the fight went on. (IMHO, of course.)

    Look who those opponents were, his fights with Walcott , Moore and Charles are better indicators.

    Lipton knows his stuff !
    He even knew goldman and met marciano, Dempsey, Ali, frazier, and a million others
    And sparred all the n time with Carter
    When lipton speaks I listen

    If we are talking about heavyweights, Gibbons shouldn't share the same sentence as Walcott, Charles or Moore.

    This is most easily illustrated by listing Gibbons 5 best wins at heavyweight, and compare them to the list to be created from the careers of those three.
