  1. :rofl:lol: LYLE TOOK SHOTS FROM FOREMAN AND SHAVERS. BY FAR HARDER PUNCHERS THAN HAYE. OF COURSE HE WOULD TAKE EVERY SHOT FROM HAYE.. AND HE WOULD KO HAYE

Haye's performances at heavyweight aren't anywhere near as bad as people try to make it out to be. He's 5-0 with four knockouts with the only decision being over the WBA champ Nicolay Valuev who is still ranked in the Ring Magazine top ten. Ruiz was determined as it was his last chance at the big time and was a top ten caliber fighter when they fought. Haye has shown that he is a world class heavyweight, just how world class remains to be answered.

Does anyone else here sort of want Haye-Chagaev? I think the fight makes sense and would be good in the long run.

  3. the diference is the era!!!! Lyle fought legends and he was competent!!! Haye fought nobody!!!

What bearing does who Haye has met at HW have on the outcome of this fight? None, at all. You keep repeating it because you see it as a fact in your favour. Write this down - in a fight, it's the fighter's skills and equipment that matter, not their record.

Every time Lyle came up against a fighter ranked in the top 10 he failed to KO them. I think that Haye would be a ranked contender in this era. This indicates to me that he is in a class of fighter that was beyond Lyle's capabilities as a puncher. I don't expect a KO (but i dont' see it as imposisble).

Haye is physically more gifted. I think he would out-speed Lyle and beat him on points.

Of course, the foibles of rankings are plenty. Shavers was a top 10 type even if he wasn't ranked when Lyle TKO'd him. But the fact remains, he just couldn't knock out top drawer men. He couldn't.

He couldn't take Ali's shots, and Haye punches harder than Ali.
As McGrain said Lyle never stopped a top contender.

Haye would have to pick another part of his anatomy to make a loser's excuse with...truthfully speaking though, it would have been his mandible to blame....as well as his heart.

Lyle knocked out Larry Middleton in 1972, in 3 rounds. Middleton was ranked at the time.

Its clear Lyle would probably win a deicision. Haye would run out of the arena, hop in a taxi, and fly out of the country before he would let himself get knocked out. In the press conference, he claims he injured his pinky prior the fight but solidered on like real man yet it greatly hindered his performance.

Really, Haye may very well have the tools to outbox Lyle but...he's going to have to show me he has some balls at HW before I would favor him.
