Oh.that's.ok.then. By the way I was talking about you using full stops as spaces. Not about you seeing Lyle.
Sad to hear. He was truly a credit to his sport, always in shape and ready to fight. His fight with foreman was a classic.
I wondered same, he was stabbed in prison in stomach, and was in very bad shape. Considering quality of prison doctors, he was lucky to have survived and still been able to box. After all these years I figure it probably was not connected to stabbing, we have to wait and see. I would have liked to see him come up with a contending boxer from that gym he had.
His biography is called: Off the Ropes by Candace Toft. It is a gritty but at the same time uplifting tale of a hard as nails man. A complex person for sure. He developed an inner-sanctity which helped him through the tremendous highs and devastating lows of his life. I suggest anyone who wants to know more about the late Ron Lyle to order this book on amazon. They also should have the kindle version if you prefer it. RIP Mr. Lyle, you had an indomitable will to never quit in the boxing ring or in life. You helped people and were a positive force in the world.
Ron was a regular on TV in the 70's. I'm sad to see him go. I have a lot of good memories of him. Always wished he'd get another title shot. Evangelista got two, for God's sake. A guy I have thought I would like knowing in real life.
My space bar was pawed off by my dog and I've been using the tiny button and it was giving out. It was either don't say anything (not possible, for me), makeeverythingnonstoplikethis, or periods. :bart
