Yep...Lyle. He'd stomp a hole though the chest of Rahman...and batter and ko Weaver...I have no doubt. Ron was meaner and better than either one of them.

Rahman he had the best opponent: Lewis. Lyle -like nearly every decent 70s fighter- is incredible overrated.

I'll take Rahman. He could actually box when he wanted to.

I remember him from "back in the day" (as they say) and what a bad man he was indeed. I followed his career...this was back in the "magazine days"...and I was a fan.

Lyle could box too...as he said, he could "win ugly" on points.

I dunno. I looked through their respective resumes and Rahman's seems the more impressive to me.

Who's the best man Lyle actually beat? Bonavena? Shavers? They were OK but not top shelf.

Rahman beat quite a few fighters of that calibre, but in addition has the Lewis and Sanders wins. I think that edges him ahead.

On the other hand you had to be somebody yourself to beat Rahman, whereas Lyle dropped one to Lynn Ball and damn near lost to Stan Ward.
