Okay,I know that this one's come up a few times, but I can't recall when the last time was that there was a thread devoted to it. Who takes this ? Does Lyle's heavier punching stop Ken ? Or does Norton's better all round skills nullify anything Ron has to offer ?

I'll say this: if Ron catches Ken early, it's a wrap. But if the fight last longer than five rounds, Norton beat Lyle, most likely by a unanimous decision over 15 rounds.

I'd pick Lyle to win 70 percent of the time. Ken would outwork him the rest of the time.

Viva La Lyle. Long Live The Contender. Lyle Is Life. Da Do Ron Ron, Da Do Ron Ron.

Did Lyle have the cracking power to take Ken out? Even though Lyle was not an elite puncher he had more power than guys like Jose Luis Garcia and Scott Ledoux who had Norton on the deck (Garcia KO'd Norton, Ledoux had him down 2X) I would not put Lyle in the class of Cooney or Shavers or Foreman as a puncher but he still may have had the tipping power to stop Ken because of his pressure. On the other side of the coin Ron was slow, Quarry made him look slow and Jerry was of average speed....I could see Lyle stopping Ken,catching him sometime during the 10 rounder but I could also see Ken's unorthodox style and decent speed beating Lyle to the punch and keeping Lyle at the required distance to win a UD
