Not sure if I agree with Explosions in the Sky, but awesome highlight regardless.

Did you say you were doing a Clottey-Judah one?

If your taking suggestions why not Humberto Gonzalez vs Michael Carbajal? In my opinion the best fight (or one of) in the 1990's. Four knockdowns, lots of shifts in momentum I think that would make a nice highlight.

This is a fight you really should check out if you have any spare time mate. 8 rounds of pure action. Brilliant unification fight between two champions which turned into a trilogy.

    TommyG,
I saw this fight in its entirety on You Tube awhile back.

In my opinion, the most brutal Heavyweight fight I ever saw.

    Yep,,,,,,,it lasted one round longer.

    Every punch was a bomb.

I think in the Foreman-Lyle fight one jab was thrown:good

Two American badasses! Shavers has his imperfections as a fighter, but when he swings those arms, look out! And you've got to give Lyle credit for withstanding that hurricane and winning. Two class guys too.

Just how did Ron Lyle withstand that near murderous left hook from Shavers.
I can't believe he didn't cave in from that.

And Shavers, did not show a weak chin.
He withstood some of the most incredible bombs from Lyle without blinking.

The big thing with Lyle was that nobody knew he could fight off the ropes so well. I'm sure the Shavers camp thought the bout was over when Earnie got him on the ropes and fired away. Most opponents would have gone. But Lyle knew what he was doing in there & it surprised the heck out of me because he was a go forward guy prior and had not had to ever display a slick skill like that. That's a lot of concentration and skills at work there and very very easy to make a mistake.

It took a long time for Shavers to get up from that and it was a long long time before Earnie was matched up with another big hitter. They did a terrific rebuilding job with Shavers and that was a bad ko defeat to try to come back from.

This fight gave Lyle all the preparation he needed in order to upset a returning George Foreman, but in the end he came up short.
