In a boxing match, Lyle would knock Alzado out very quickly. No contest.

You do have a tendency to stray away from the confines of this forum, what next Stallone against Peter? Why do you insist on paring an athlete from another sport up with a pro fighter?

You're right though. I often tend to post threads that are off topic, and while they are intended to be humorous are not always recieved that way....I'll refrain from doing so from this point forth.

I knew Alzado and he was a good street fighter, he also could box pretty good before he started heavy with the weights. I heard he went undefeated in the amatuers until he lost on a DQ suposedly to Ron Stander or Ron Lyle depending on who told the story...Lyle beat up 3 bouncers one day in a club in N.Y. but he had his ass handed to him by a tough kid he grew up with but I think a bat my have assisted.

I think the Problem for -Non-fighter Atheletes, who can be big and strong in their own sports, those sports do not involve getting hit repeatedly on the chin, the effects can come as a shocking experiance..

As for Alzado, i remember him boxing an exhibition with a way out of shape Ali, Alzado didnt look too bad when Ali loafed and drifted through the motions, but when Alzado got a bit frisky and tried to make a name for himself, Ali just slipped up a gear, hit Alzado a few (but not full blooded) and Alado new instantly to treat it as a pantomime as was Ali ..or else he could be severly embarassed...

Its Ron Lyle and its a no Brainer

Ron Lyle would crush Alzado in the ring or in the street. Ron Lyle I think is under appreciated and came up in a really competitive era in boxing.

Lyle demolishes Alzado in the ring and the street. Lyle was a world class boxer who gave Ali and Foreman problems, while Alzado was a pro football player who Ali played with in an exhibition. Lyle was a gang member and excon who learned boxing in the penitentary, but Alzado would probably have 10 sacks in an NFL game if Ron Lyle had to block him.
You seem to be enjoying these boxer-football player matchups Magoo, so who are you going to match Mark Gastineau up with?
