    Good fight. I gotta go with Moorer but I will admit that this is said with uncertainty. It took me a good 8 minutes or so before I could committ to this answer.

    Lyle has the kind of power that could clearly get Moorer's attention. Lyle's boxing skills also got a lot better after Jerry Quarry schooled him early in 1973. Moorer could box and bang too but I would make Lyle a solid favorite here. Not the aging, washed-up Lyle who was taken out in 1979 by Lynn Ball and the dead man walking Lyle who got his ribcage smashed in by Gerry Cooney in 1980. Heck no, this is the Lyle of 1973-77.' That version of Lyle beats Moorer every day of the week.
