Marciano bombs him out. Lyle is good but would get worn out and maybe stopped late, or outpointed like against Quarry, but a wider decision.

 

This a complete mismatch. Lyle would destroy Marciano maybe even worse than Foreman destroyed Frazier. Lyle would eagerly welcome a slugfest with the 30 or so pound lighter Rocky and it will not be the same outcome as the Vingo fight.

 

Gotta go with Marciano. But, Lyle might have proven to be a worthy opponent.

lol That's my honest to goodness beliefs. I give Marciano credit when nesserary but I will never believe he could beat Lyle just because he is a well loved champion with an undefeated record. There are a number of factors I go by to determine who really might of won. I try not to let emotions be one of them.

 

While I agree with those who say that Marciano would probably win I think that Lyle would be a dangerous oponent for him.

Perhaps one worth steering him clear of.

Ron Lyle v Nino Valdes might have been informative.

 

I never like Lyle's stimia in the Foreman bout, Foreman who himself got wore out in that fight, outlasted Lyle in there historic class. Had Lyle had more gas in his tank, he would have beating Foreman imo.

I think Lyle would put Marciano down, but he wont keep him there, Rocky's power and work rank would be too much for Lyle once the middlerounds start, I think on a good day, the Rock ends it in 6 or 7 rounds. At worse outside of the Cockell Marciano, I think Rocky could pound him in 11-12 rounds.

 

Lyle would have bombed Rocky out ... Lyle was a huge man with a huge punch . Again I say there is a reason for weight division and a fight like this is the reason. Compating Rocky because both were short and white is way off ... totally different styles ..

A bruiser of a fight, and Rocky would prove himself to be the legendary Rock, impervious to pain, as he would swallow everything Lyle had to offer, get busted up and bleed, but eventually grind down Lyle to a nub in 9...ko.

 

Legenary Rock or fantasy Rock ? I guess after he survives a slug out with the five inch taller, thirty five pound heavier Lyle, shaking off bombs from the hitter George Foreman said was the hardest puncher he ever fought, Marciano throws on his red cape and leaps a tall building with a single bound ! Can we get real here ...

Terrible style match for Rocky.

 

Marciano for me, of course Lyle is a dangerous, world class opponent, a good fight in which i see Marciano coming good later on
