Ron Lyle vs Tex Cobb

    Both guys were about 6’3” and around 220 depending on the evening. Both pretty durable. Neither were elite punchers but both could definitely crack. Both had attitude and were in some rough fights. What do you think ?

    At their best, Lyle on points, better fundamentals, stronger and probably faster, he’d out jab him if he wanted, he’d outmuscle him and beat him in the trades and up close, Cobb is outmatched in every department other than probably chin which Lyle didn’t have a bad one himself.

    Prime Ron is just much more in the ring, if not as devilishly clever with words.

    That's about it. I personally think it would be a bit tougher, but you've hit many of the key notes.

    I also think it’d be competitive, but just that Lyle would be a slight step ahead of him in whichever range they’re fighting in.
    I must add that Cobb had a better gas tank which I forgot to mention which could pose problems for Lyle down the stretch.
