Of course this could go either way due to the devastating power both possess, but I’d favour the durability of Lyle to allow him to outlast Morrision. Morrison takes the first round, beating Lyle to the punch and Lyle doesnt open up too much for fear of getting beating to a left hook due to the speed of Morrison, Morrison goes for it in the second looking to take Lyle out, but the durability of Lyle means he survives Morrison’s onslaught, then Lyle takes over and stops him around rounds 3-6 at some point. If they both go for it from the opening bell, I still favour Lyle, because even if he does get dropped or rocked, he can recover or get up and see it out, I dont see Morrison surving if he gets hurt against Lyle, also Lyle can take far more and outlast him and take him out if it goes past the 3rd. Lyle is far more equipped for a shootout, he has his own power, he has better stamina and is far less prone to getting hurt here.
I’m slightly favoring Lyle here. He fought both George Foreman and Earnie Shavers within a four month period. He rose off the canvas to beat one of them while giving the other the toughest fight of his career. I think his chances of withstanding Morrison to triumph over him are high.
Absolutely a pick’em fight, whoever is on that particular night will win. I don’t see either of these guys as appreciably better or more skilled than the other one.
Lyle may be seen as overrated on here nowadays but I think he gets this win at least. But what a fight it could be!
Maybe ... trying to look at it objectively, though, I really don't see a lot of differentiation between the two. I think it would be an exciting fight and I don't think it would go 12.
I fancy Morrison. He seems like the better boxer with the better weapons. Sure Lyle might be a bit tougher but I don't think it would matter once the big bombs started dropping. I think it matters who lands big first, and I reckon Tommy would.
Lyle took some bombs from Foreman before eventually going down and from Shavers. Can't see Lyle being stopped by Bent and with Mercer, even if Lyle was stopped, it likely would be later in the fight and it wouldn't be him being rendered unconscious.
50-50 here Morrison is definitely the better boxer and probably hits harder, but of course Lyle has a better chin for sure. Could end quickly if someone gets caught of course but could be quite a war. If Tommy doesn't gas out or get caught early he win down the stretch. But Lyle could just bomb him out. Toss up.
Morrison gets on his bike for the first half and stops Ron in the second half. Ya don't punch with a puncher, you don't box a boxer.
