I was watching some of Lyle's fights recently, against Quarry, Shavers, and Jurgen Blin, he looked like a giant. Against Foreman and Cooney he appeared much smaller. I've seen that his height is mostly listed as 6'3. Against Foreman he appeared about 2 inches shorter and he was dwarfed by Cooney who I think ios about 6'6. Also against Cooney his weight was only 211 pounds. I wonder why he came in so light for that fight particularly since he was already close to 40 at the time. Just some observations. Any comments?
I see him looking about Foreman's height. I think he was lighter against Cooney because he had lost some muscle.
Ah you talk so much nonsense my man. ;-0 Tell us again about Tua's spindly legs. And despite being listed at a mere 18" thigh at 6' 7"=practially a disembodied torso floathing around the ring-about Wilder & his Tree Trunks.
Listen, I'll talk about Tua's legs till the cows come home. I think anyone who knows me on here could tell you that. I would make you very, very tired of Tua's legs. All night, I could shake you. All night long. Long? That's something Tua's stick legs certainly ain't. Sometimes you can't even tell if he's on his own damn legs or if he ridin' an ostrich or whatever weird bird it is they got over there. If I talk nonsense, then how do I even know any of this? Ask yourself that.
Foreman was a legitimate 6'3 1/2 or 6/4 in the vast majority of tale of the tape and seeing him stand next to multiple athletes and celebrities who were 6'2 or more and he was often the more imposing figure. Lyle was able to look him in the eyes at the ring center stare down. They were similar in size, although Foreman was a little bulker and had larger leg mass. Not sure where you're getting the idea Lyle looked "much" smaller. Ali was a legit 6'3 and Lyle didn't seem to be "dwarfed" by him either and looked pretty big and solid. Lyle was not a small man by any means. He had your typical "prison body" from doing an excessive amount of push ups and sit ups (1000 a day) but had underdeveloped legs. He was also in a gang before he got into boxing and probably did some strength training back then to in order to be a more intimidating enforcer.
yeah well since you are not a cute Grrrl fuhgettibout shakin' me all night long. You know a lot & pretend otherwise, but if you were serious you would be jus' delusional lol! An ostrich was the wrong analogy to use, since they are not just very thin-to continue your absurd conceit-but are very long. Much of the adult male bird's 6'9"-9'2" height are from their legs, so you are undermining the only actual Truth you cited, that Tua's legs are not long, lol! Otherwise, good show though.
Foreman in the 70s was consistently listed as only 6'3 given heights seem to be rarely understand I would guess he was actually 6'3. Lyle was probably 6'2 or 6'2 1/2.
Well this is not true. In the Scott Ledoux fight they announced he was 6'4. In other fights they mention him being 6'3 1/2. Do you think he suddenly gained an inch as a 40 year old man? https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/tale-tape-george-foreman-vs-cooney-1818732177
The tale of the tape measurements for the Ali and Norton fights put him at 6'3. I don't doubt that he was sometimes listed as being taller but given the rampant exaggeration of heights I tend to go with the lower listings. Moreover 6'3 fits for Foreman if we go with the lower height listings for guys he fought. Holyfield for example was commonly listed as 6'1 1/4 while a cruiserweight. When he moved to heavyweight he was suddenly listed as 6'2 1/2. If the lower listing for Holyfield is correct it would fit well with Foreman not being over 6'3.
Holyfields skull grew due to HGH use to reach heavyweight size so perhaps he did grow to 6'2" in height
