I'm dreading his phone call tonight from the BBQ, he'll be a drooling mess telling me how much he loves me after a bottle of bourbon, a bottle of vodka and a slab.

Word is he was so pissed when he got on the plane he ended up flying to Darwin by mistake.

 

I got a barbled phone call from him Sunday night, the only words I could make out were "public toilet block", "visiting American sailors", "business" and "satisfying".

Not quite sure what he meant.

He still hasn't arrived so the the Lost Causes lodge has put out an APB for him.

Ok you nasty *******s, I'm back.

Firstly, the day was a fkn pisser. I even managed to get away before Phil Austin arrived. Thank **** for that.

Secondly, a fellow there has been in contact with me for the sake of honouring another GREAT fighter with a monument elsewhere. It's early days, so I'll leave the fighters name out of convo for now.

Actually, there's a few good things to have been a flow on from the day- one being the decision of Noel Kunde to fly to Melbourne when Lionel's statue is unveiled. A chance meeting with him, a later phone convo (not during the bbq) and Kunde's all geared up for the idea to pay respects to Lionel come June 2nd.

Just a closing point........ I met Ashley.. He didn't mention Mundine's name once!!!!!!!!!!

 

Probably a different Ashley! How much did you have to drink?
