Accoring to boxrec, undefeated Ronald Hearns will face Paul Clavette as the main undercard bout for the IBF Super-Middleweight title fight beetween Montreal's Lucian Bute and tought Mexican and mandatory challenger Librado Andrade.

Clavette is a bad style matchup for Hearns or is it just me?

He uses A LOT of movement and he throws a lot of punches and hes very tough..... He could out work Hearns for a decision IMO....Or maybe Hearns will counterpunch him to death but we will have to see.

Clavette could beat him but Idoubt it,anyway Ronald ain't no Tommy,Clavette had to struggle hard with a natural WW in Victor Lupo coming after more tha na year layoff and barely won.Hearns should win this easy

Apparently Hearns is due to fight John Duddy later this year. Having not seen Ronald Hearns fight before, how to people see him match up against Duddy at light middleweight???

Hearns is a boxer-puncher whoh tries to use his height and reach to his advantage. I don't know who wins a match between he and Duddy but its a smart fight for both guys. Hearns got a late start but he seems ok, not a great, but with his name and the ability he does have he could be in a few major fights over the next couple years.

Agreed. this is absolutely a very bad choice of opponent by Hearns camp or Showtime, whoever wanted Clavette. Im guessing they want to showcase Hearns. But it is very difficult to look good against Clavette. He is an akward spoiler, and from what I have seen of him his fights are awful to watch. Even if Hearns wins, it will likely be a boring fight that will draw boos and Showtime will regret their choice of Clavette as Heanrs opponent.

I haven't seen Clavette, but I have seen Ronald Hearns, and he definitely DID NOT get the Hitman gene! Pharoh said he's convinced young Ronald was adopted, he may be right:hey

I'll pull for Hearns, as I admire his old man, but it doesn't look good.

Lupo is a pressure fighter and thats the worst style matchup for Clavette. I personally know Ali Nestor Charles who beated Clavette only to end up with a controversial draw and he dominated that fight by pressuring Clavette and working his body. Hearns is too tall to work the body effectivly and its not in his mentality to pressure ethier so IMHO, Clavette might just get the decision by outworking Ronald all night while he waits for the big right hand....
