Ronald Hearns vs Verno Phillips in the works

    I'm not to impressed with Hearns to be honest. Phillips will be a good test to see if he's real or not.

    hearns gets hit a lot from what i saw on shobox. he's not ready for a fight like this (and may never be).

    Phillips is a h-u-g-e jump in the level of competition for Hearns. He hasn't even fought a top 30 opponent yet, and he's going for a title fight? Duddy had more accomplishments. Don't know if Hearns would even beat Campas?

    Either Hearn's people believe he can pull off the upset or they're convinced he needs to cash out while this oppurtunity is on the table.

    I think this is a good test for him. It's a win win situation for him. If he wins he's a world champion and showed he can beat a old but pretty good fighter. If he lose it shows what he needs to work on and it would also give him world championship experience for the future. Either way I'm glad he has the courage to step up so young in his boxing career(not in age) to fight for a title.

    i hear that .. i read a magazine that was doing an evaluation of every division ..they said that ron was pretty over rated ..ring magazine it was ... the one with cotto on the cover right after he beat urkle and before the judah fight
