The fact that you find that scary is a bit disturbing.

Atmosphere was good inside the arena and the WBSS set up looked awesome, the main issue (as with most live boxing) is the ring is too far away to watch the action properly and the four tiny big screens were very poorly positioned and to small. For example, nobody knew Groves had popped his shoulder it just looked like Eubank was coming on strong with Groves was gassing. It would be better if they could put mics in the ring so the crowd can hear more of the punches and listen to the ref because its just a silent disco as far as the actions concerned.

The punters were the usual football crowd casuals with lots of shoulder barging, have-a-go hardman types. The university goons working at the concession stands were loosing control and just getting robbed at one point. A fair amount of Chelsea supporters up for Groves but despite a very tense atmosphere saw very little actual crowd trouble.

These were £100 lower tier seats and probably would not bother again for the above reasons unless I had tickets to the inner ring.

Diamonte was good and looked like a complete dapper flanked by four ring girls. Whilst he doesn't have a standout catchphrase his voice and ring presence is strong enough to get your attention.

Thanks for the info mate. What about the lights around the ring? They look really prominent on the tv, did they have an effect on your view?

The lights looked amazing and are a good trademark for the WBSS. They do create a haze around the arena so it's hard for celeb spotting etc. They were left on for the undercard fights but switched off for the main event but you can still see the action through the lights.

I don't mind him. By and large, he tends to focus on the fight in front of him. That ranks him ahead of several other commentators on my list.
