Winky had his chance to stay relevant drawing Taylor in a fight I thought he won. He blew the rematch in negotiation. Then he was inactive. Then he moved up and fought BHop rather than try to get a 160lb title cause he could have beat Taylor Sturm and Abraham. After losing to Bhop in a fight I felt he won but can be wrong and have not seen since he was terribly inactive and lost to Williams where he made a good effort blacked many of Williams shots and landed at a high percentage but was blanked in the out put department. He had his chance but I doubt he can get back to the top
Maybe he should move up to 168,he went all the way to 170 to Fight B-hop and I felt Winky gave Hopkins trouble,he made it a close fight and was still able to be competive even with him carrying all that extra weight, which i didnt think was going to happen.
Was he really competitive in that fight? I didn't see it myself so maybe you're right, but weren't the scores in the 119-110 and 120-110 range? The articles I remember reading the day after the fight made it sound like it was not competitive at all.
hate to say it but I agree wit you. winky was definitly one of my faves, but he started acting like a ****** and taking too much time off.
Well I only gave him 2 rounds but I mean each individual round was competitive. Wright was rarely hit infact he probablly landed the most clean punches off the fight just Williams threw so much more in almost every round and therefore he would win nearly every round.
Well, Kelly might throw a few less punches but they are much harder punches than Williams throws. Winky landed flush on Pdub and couldn't make him blink. Add to that Kelly has a slight grudge with Winky. I think Winky would stinky up the joint if he fought Pavlik.
As of right now Winky's record in his last 6 fights is 3-2-1. He has not won a fight since he beat Ike Quartey in December of 2006. He turned down a rematch with Jermain Taylor. He ignored Kelly Pavlik when Pavlik called him out several times. After Pavlik beat Taylor, Winky priced himself out of at least two legitimate offers. Last time out he got his ass handed to him by Paul Williams. Winky may have a couple of good performances left in him, but at the moment he is not relevant. He needs to win a couple fights against fighters in the Ring top 10. I'd bet my bottom dollar that David Lopez would take a fight, and that might be a good place to start.
Well... http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=594183 With guys like Rossy and Ravelo featuring in his main events, he's not running a bush league operation but Schaefer Shaw and Arum are hardly taking notice, either...
The reason I say Dynamic is because you get a concert and a fight card in the same night, now outside of Mayweather entrances where do you see that.
Oh ok, misunderstood. I thought you were using the other (original) definition of dynamic to mean "powerful", rather than "diversified or multifaceted". :good
