Wright's 2nd fight with Mosley, the Vargas fight, JC Candelo, Jermain Taylor, Ike Quartey (aside from that guy screaming in the background) where all very exicting fights. Wright has a long way to go to be on the level of a Zaheer Raheem or a John Ruiz.

People who say Wright is boring are morons.

His his fights with Mosley, Taylor, Vargas, all entertaining. People act like each fight is a snoozer.

The fight with Bernard was more of a snoozer due to B-Hop. Who is a little too dirty.

Wright has done a terrible job matchmaking and promoting himself in my opinion.

No argument he has fought the best, but he could have had a really stellar, HOF worthy career had he not had such an ego and priced himself out of so many fights.

He could have picked up belts at 160 and been hugely competitive in the division. Even 168 maybe.

As it was he was inactive for enormous periods of time. Every year makes a difference.

Wright's prospects are pretty much done. Apparently he took HBO to the cleaners over the Wright- Williams fight which was a massive bomb on all fronts.

It was for him but not Williams. But yeah, after Williams out worked him to such a high degree it really made him look impotent. He landed flush on Williams and couldn't buy a blink.

By bomb on all fronts, I meant at the gate and ratings wise.

Winky was on OTG radio yesterday, and he said he is going back down to 154. I think that is a huge mistake at his age. He'd be weight drained and end up losing a "tune-up."

At the moment 160 is a barren waste land. Wins over David Lopez and Matthew Macklin, for example, would put Winky right in line for a title shot.

Just a short time ago Pavlik/Wright was a fight lots of people wanted to see. It could still be a viable fight. All Winky has to do is put his ego in check, rack up a couple decent wins, and then accept a reasonable offer.

"Winky Wright is a little guy who doesn't hit very hard. I'd love to smack Winky around the ring for a few rounds." (Kelly Pavlik)

Trust me -- Pavlik would make a fight with Winky in a heart beat. All Winky has to do is put his ego in check, and make himself relevant again.

I was thinking about this yesterday. I think Winky should be inducted into the IBHOF at some point, but he falls short of ATG status.

His timing was way off against Williams. He needs to get more active if he's still serious about it.

  14. Winky was being greedy about 2-3 years ago demanding lots of cash to fight. Now he realizes nobody cares anymore after he was blitzed by Paul Williams. Winky has very few options these days but I still wouldn't be opposed to watching him fight any of the big names.
