Ronda Rousey was on Good Morning America earlier to announce her next opponent. It'll be Holly Holm.

Thankfully Ronda isnt wasting everyone's time with a meaningless third Miesha Tate fight. Some will say this is too soon for Holly while others (like me) think Holly with her range&speed could possiby make Ronda look bad. Thoughts?

    Its ridiculous isn't it??

And the chick she is fighting is a former pro boxer too, so hopefully it will be more than 34 secs of wild punches. I'll watch the replay on facebook the next day regardless.

Tate would have been a better fight..holms is out gunned here, shes the better striker and is very quick in and out southpaw, but not physically strong enough from what ive seen thus far,its going to end quick, and by submission fast.Holms hasn't really beat a high end grappler and she picked the wrong one to test that on .

Not a bad fight and kind of makes sense.

Holly was the most dominant female athlete in boxing and Rousey the most dominant in MMA.

Pretty sure they can sell this well, although I see Ronda ending it early like always. Holm was always feather fisted and she's gonna get arm bar'd out of there.

Ronda will win ... too much grappling expertise. Foregone conclusion imho.

BUT ... I do see that Ronda's camp thinks that she could beat Holm in a boxing match  THAT I would like to see ;)

This is why I disagree with those that say this is too soon for Holly. She's going to be 34 yrs old in a few more weeks. What the hell would she wanna wait for? Her style depends on a lot of speed, reflexes, agility and leg work. Women dont have the same physiological longevity in combat sports as men. Holly has to be considered at the tail end of her physical prime or slightly past it at this point.

I maybe in the minority on this but all the UFC bantamweight women on their feet look slow as a beached whale. You can literally hit them with your eyes closed. Holly's going to have big adavantages in height/reach, speed, and agility. If she waits much longer some of those advantages shrink more than she wants it to.
