So many levels of ridiculous in that. It is quite accurate that an MMA fighter *may* fare poorly against a purely boxing fighter (so long as the MMA fighter isn't actually a top level boxer who has decided to try their hand at MMA - like Holly Holm for example) in a purely boxing match, but that is so far missing the point that it proves absolutely nothing at all.

MMA is about using whatever skills a fighter has to defeat another fighter who is ALSO using those skills, your comparison is like saying David Tua would an ATG heavyweight if in boxing you were only allowed to do left hooks.

You wouldn't put a boxer in a Judo match (also it's own entity) and expect them to win, UNLESS they also have done Judo.

With MMA you're allowed to use them also, a boxer MAY be better at boxing but if in MMA who cares - a boxer who would win every boxing match CAN still get KTFO by a kick to the head or suffer a loss by submission.

Again, Holly ended up on the ground defending against Rousey and survived it. While I haven't watched all of Rousey's fights - I know a LOT of them lasted roughly as long as it took for Rousey to get them to the ground + a few more seconds to force a submission.

Holm got out of the situation which so many others haven't, that was NOTHING to do with boxing. If she had not developed those skills to that level, the fight would have ended there. Guaranteed.

That would have been even better if they had showed a bit more of that last sequence and added the knockout aswell.

Yes, but its always MMA fighters who want to say they can beat this boxer up, or that boxer. You rarely ever hear boxers saying they can beat up an MMA fighter in a boxing ring. Its almost exactly like saying a basketball player can beat a soccer player in basketball game. lol stupid, who cares, but its always the mma guys sayin that ****.

Lets be real, Holly already has 2 of the fighting disciplines on LOCK. World champ kick boxer and boxer, that alone is a very deadly combo, so obviously her focus is on ground game, grappling, wrestling. She's going to be VERY hard for anyone to beat and I think she crushes Rhonda again. And you're right, Holly is stronger and Rhonda can't throw her around or have her way with her like the others. If I were Rhonda, I would hang em up, go the movie route lol You don't want this girl crushing you again but i do get that she has to at least try. If she felt bad from this loss, the next one will probably be worse.

Holly is an expert striker, especially given her background. Rhonda doesn't need to hang them up after one loss, and yea it was a fantastic loss at that. Rhonda went into that fight with a blown up head like Tyson vs Douglas. This fight obviously exposed Ronda's weak ass striking. And it also was very evident her corner was ****ing clueless to the dismantling. Also, Ronda given her blown up head was incredibly stubborn, like she thinks she's going to fight fire with fire. She was not going to out box Holly that night, and about half way thru the first round the match was basically over. Why you might ask?

Someone who is totally getting out box'd, pounded and yet is too stupid or stubborn to realize this so she was still trying to walk the Holly down. What moron does that? Ronda. Obviously she needs some time with a proper boxing coach, not the morons she's been training with. They may know the ground game, though I'd suspect Ronda knows the ground game better than anyone that could coach her.

Her striking game, is average at best but against a tactician like Holly she got decimated. Ronda had zero head movement! She completely ignored Holly's repeated straight left. It's like a noob ignoring rules, because well they are a noob and it's too late anyways to adapt mid fight when you've never even contemplated that you'd ever have to adjust. Who does that? Apparently not Ronda, adjusting that is lol. The second round... lol she was not recovered yet, and her corner had zero nada, ziltch to prepare her with. Ronda should have been running and buying time, then looking for a leg to "shoot" for and take Holly down.

Instead what does Ronda do? Chase Holly around again like a zombie looking for brains!

All that said, I think if anyone has a chance to learn and adjust Ronda can do it. It's not totally impossible for her to learn to strike, and if not at least learn cope with her limitations and deal with an expert striker who is going to hit and run on you. And Ronda needs to stop talking so much **** too and concentrate on building up her obviously weak ass striking and get some damn head movement.

Ronda's leg attacks are trash and she really cant wrestle. Mcmann should have taken her down 100 times then just let her up. Tate also took her down.

Then she's got some serious things to contemplate. I don't watch her enough to critique her ground game but I presumed all MMA fighters could take someone down especially given her mastery of the arm bar. I guess I was wrong lol. That is ridiculous... how can you have such a stupid awesome arm bar and be **** at leg attacks? :patsch

What do you expect this is a boxing forum, most of us are sick of MMA knobs claiming that boxers can't fight on the street or in a cage.

These knobs think that a takedown is a magical thing that no boxer could ever stuff without a years wrestling training. FFS plenty of blokes can stop takedowns, they are actually harder to execute then to stop.

And Rousey got out GRAPPLED by a 18 time BOXING CHAMPION.

All those years Rousey was grappling, Holly was boxing and Holly STILL out grappled her!
