Was anyone else face-palming at Ronnie Shields last night when he kept telling Lara to keep doing what you're doing? He did occasionally request the jab a bit more, but I think Shields really did Lara a disservice by not pressing him to be more active; by not telling him this fight is too close; by not being aware that the deck might be stacked a little in Canelo's favor in the way of decisions and that means extra work. Ronnie should have been pushing him a lot more, making sure Lara knew he was behind the 8-ball if it went to the cards. Martinez was a lost cause with the 117-111, but had Lara put in more work he might have flipped the 115-113 card away from Canelo. Anyway, I think Shields could have done better corner work, he made Lara too content with his work rate.

It's not Shields' fault. This is how Lara always fought and fights, it's not like Shields can completely change him overnight.

    shields was spot on.

lara was outlanding drainelo and landing the cleaner shots, esp to the head.

asking lara to be more active and throwing more punches tahn necessary would lead to more opportunities for drainelo.

one flush shot and it could end terribly for lara, in a fight he was appeared to be winning (clearly 5 rounds of the first 6 rounds).

this wasnt the case where pac was landing the cleaner/ harder punches and more than bradley in the first fight.
