Erm, that's not what that means in this context, buddy. It simply means he's thrown all his chips in the pile for this fight. Giving up the chance to face an easier opponent for a world title tilt in K-9 to take on GGG, giving up the chance to have it at a 158 catchweight, etc.
Only a fool would bet on Rosado, but at the same time, this fight will be a pretty good test for Golovkin. If he does have any holes in his defense, as many suspect, I think Rosado will expose them, though he probably won't last long enough to capitalize on them.
Are you sure he didn't bet on the over or something? Betting that much on that outcome in that situation is degeneracy in its purest form.
Like a few here i cant see anything about his purse being bet. It mentions 'double down' in terms of fighting Triple G and giving up his 154 #1 shot and not meeting him at a catchweight.. Title is misleading, especially when the source quoted doesnt mention money.
That's just another way of saying that he's backing himself completely, it's metaphorical. Thankfully he's not that dumb, Golovkin will blow him out of the water. I don't mean that he'll be swimming with him and blow really hard until Rosado gets out either. He will knock that mother****er out.
As others have said now, the article is not indicating that Rosado is betting any money on the fight, the meaning is pretty clear that he's betting on being able to beat a tough opponent in Golovkin at Golovkin's best weight with no concessions for a catchweight as opposed to the safer route of fighting at his more natural weight of 154 waiting for a title shot against a lesser champion like say, Bundrage.
Shows that he has a lot of confidence, but it's also a dumb move if it's true. I mean, let's just say he does outbox GGG, there's still a chance he could get robbed on the cards.
Hes not sayings he LITERALLY better his purse on the fight. Its just saying hes going all out and backing himself metaphorically.
Yeah, that is exactly what we fans like - crazy ass, tough moddhafukkers. But even if this information isnt true, its a good and classy marketing strategy, without trashtalking and other ****...
I think this fight is going to be a lot closer than what most are saying. This is by far the toughest test GGG will have as of now. Its not even close. GGG has awesome power and a proven amatuer record against some good comp. Rosado is the type of fighter that has gotten better over time. He only had 11 amatuer fights and got tossed in there tough early. He was fed to Angulo and Guerrero. He has openly stated he has made some adjustments and learned a lot, esp. over his last 5 or so fights. Each one he looks stronger. I am not saying Rosado is going to win, but it will be a very entertaining fight. I am more looking forward to see if GGG has that extra step to over come adversity assuming Rosado can supply some. If GGG wins, he should apply all the pressure on Martinez. I mean do him dirty in the press.
