Rosado looks a full weight class bigger than David at the weigh-in?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by David Hanssen, Dec 6, 2014.

  1. I never remember Rosado being considered a big middleweight (as he made 154lbs. recently, although it did deplete him considerably). Is David undersized for the division, and maybe be better suited for the Canelo’s and Lara’s than the GGG’s and Murray’s. He is known as a power puncher, as his record can attest, maybe if he dropped a weight class he would have better results due to his power having more of an impact on the smaller fighters (the one legit loss was to Rubio and he is a big / tall middleweight). IF he is in fact undersized, a fighter like Rosado will take full advantage.

Lemieux weighed 162.5 lbs yesterday morning before the weigh in, and expects to weigh 175 lbs in the ring tonight. Big boned I guess.

Well we know Lemieux's not a cow. :D

Reach and distance control is what I think will be hardest for him to overcome.

We all knew Rosado was the bigger fighter, but NO, Lemiuex is NOT a LMW.

He's a perfectly sized MW with enough power to even move up eventually when he fills out into his adult body at 30-33.

Rosado has simply exploited his height against smaller fighters suing distance and tall power ala PWilly.

Rosado's downfall is gonna be Lemiuex getting in under the jab/hook. Speed kills and Lemieux is a barnburner in the speed category.:deal

GGG is an ox at middleweight, Rosado was not bigger.

One of Lemiuex's drawbacks are those T-Rex short arms, his reach is unbelievably lacking, He's a small compact middleweight legit power and some speed, but if he was fighting Rubio again, he'd still lose. I haven't seen any growth. Rosado is a solid worker, I'd be surprised if Lemiuex bulldozed him quickly, then again Perro did but that was so long ago.

Lemieux weighed 176 on the night for his last fight against Guerrero, and Rosado was 175 for his last fight at MW (against Quillin).

I think Rosado was bigger than GGG. He's certainly taller and at that time I think GGG was weighing around 168 / 9 in the ring which is lighter than the bigger JMWs (of which Gabe was one of the biggest).

Golovkin's come in a bit heavier recently, but certainly not particularly heavy for the weightclass.

If I remember correctly, Golovkin was 173 for the Rubio fight.
