real good test for lemieux. rosada is coming of a knockout of the very capable vera. he may be coming into his own.

lemieux was a wonderkind who has fallen a bit from grace after the rubio fight, when he fell apart.
lemieux has all the talent in the world. plus the type of power that could get him a world title.

bottom line: if lemieux has corrected his stammina problems and fights with discipline, he should win.
rosados chance will have to come later in the fight. you know...deep waters. but i think lemieux will dominate early, rosado coming on in the middle part, with lemieux keeping it together. lemieux by late stoppage or UD.

Lemieux by bad nasty cuts stoppage of brutal KO, while I like him Rosado is worthless, the reason he lasted so long against GGG is because GGG was sick, and he did well against Quillin because Quillin is overrated, he was dominated by Charlo, and couldn't stop the glass jawed Love who was KO'd Porky Medina, Vera was stopped by Kirkland earlier in his career and Dzinziruk was hurting Vera before the stoppage in their fight, and didn't look great against Bondrovas either. The Vera win wasn't that great.

Its a good fight, should be fun to watch. 50/50 in my book. Neither guy has a hope of being the next big thing, but they are both competent and entertaining fighters.

GR is the better boxer in my view, and can punch a bit. DL can punch more than a bit, but if he doesnt overwhelm and get Gabe out early he will likely be in for a very long night.

i agree that lemieux should win, but i dont see it as clear cut. he fell apart vs rubio.....and rubio aint a world beater.
and he lost to the china chinned and badly faded jr middleweight joachim alcine.

I dont think he is worthless, and while switching trainers often doesnt make a difference I think it does here. He didnt just switch trainers, he made a major step up in class.

GR got surgery to fix his scar tissue and can take a punch. He also has decent defense, DL might not be able to stop him. If it goes rounds and DL tires, he might have a hard time catching GR with his T-Rex arms.

Other than Love, who DL would probably stop.. I think DL loses to all the guys GR lost to, with maybe the exception of Quillin which was a controversy anyhow.

People I think get too caught up in the Charlo domination. First, GR was dumb to try to drain back to 154... and second and most importantly, Charlo is a far far greater talent than DL in every dept but punching power.

Charlo would embarrass DL as badly as he did Rosado at 154, and probably at 160 too.

I think Lemieux has learned from his mistakes, Rubio was a very tough test at that young an age, and Alcine was crafty enough to pull a close decision on him, especially since he was lacking confidence after the Rubio loss. I like Rosado but he's just as flawed as Lemieux, only lacking the devastating punching power. Lemieux has his confidence back and I think box more intelligently and not try to just blow Rosado out in 1 round.

dl wins as long as he doesn't get gassed like he did against rubio.

Yeah they are both flawed, I just think Rosado will be hard to stop. I think they are both on about the same level really. Quillin, DL, GR, Jacobs, all guys I see at about the same level. Which is about 2 levels below Golovkin. A lot of good 50/50 fights at the lower tier of MW contendership though, which I think DL/GR is.

DL probably has the better chance of being able to step up a level due to his age though. Lets see if he does it, or if stepping up vs a vet with a bit of skill, pop and chin sends him a step back again like his outing vs Rubio. GR is no world beater, but hes still the best guy DL will have fought by a good margin outside Rubio.

    Jacobs would dominate Rosado.
You saw what Charlo did to him
