I am not bitter, I believe strongly that Duran is not as great as what people say. As a matter of fact I am sure of it. The facts show he never beat a great fighter at lightweight no matter how much you try and make it seem. Duran also gets credit for beating Davey Moore who had 11 fights, and when he lost to Benitez a year before he was washed up. Why would a fighter gain status by beating Moore, but have an excuse a year before? Since the 1980's I could not understand his high rating. I was hoping for him to beat Ray or Hearns or Benitez to at least prove he could knock out and prove his dominance over real greats and he never did.

Laguna,Ortiz,Navarro don't mean anything because you don't think Duran ever beat a great fighter in his career?Those victories are meaningless so you can make this a Roberto Duran thread(statement)?Your bias is EXTREMELY clouding your judgement.By the way,Duran beat Palomino FAR worse than Benitez did when he was younger.
