This was a great fight, one of the better title fights of the 80s, I thought - two top level champs in their prime, fighting for supremacy. Takes me back to the early years of my boxing fandom. Like others have said, Rosario was the more highly regarded at the time, and was expected to win. This is the fight that really put Chavez on the map in the U.S., made him a superstar. Like many, I thought Rosario was going to knock him out. Chavez really upset that applecart, and Rosario was never quite the same.
