...Against some of the better 108 lb fighters in history? At his best, he was a solid-punching, bull-strong. well-schooled pressure fighter, and that's not an easy style for anyone to face. Assuming that he's in peak condition (which was never a guaruntee with him), how do you think he fares against the likes of Gushiken, Carbaljal, Chang, Yuh, Gonzalez, Zapata, et al...?
Gushiken, Carbaljal, Chang, Yuh, Gonzalez, Zapata I'd favor Gushiken, Chang, and Zapata over him. The others are basically 50/50, though I'd actually probably favor all but Yuh over him directly. I don't think Alvarez was that great technically, just more of a strong, bullish in-fighter and puncher. Very good fighter, just not quite on the level of some of the top guys IMO.
