I think there is a relevant point in this thread and it goes back to many of the ludicrous claims from Klitschko fans. If Wlad got beaten by Sanders, Brewster and Purrity, it's hard to imagine him dominating any elite fighters in history, which goes against what his biased fans think. He might win some, yes, but it's far more likely he ends up with a losing record against the top 20 of all-time.

That said, these losses are a long time ago. I think because of the nature of these fights, they won't ever be forgotten and that's absolutely fine but Wlad is a better fighter now. Would he has still lost to Sanders? I think so, yes, but I can't imagine him losing to Purrity and possibly not Brewster either.

The only way Wlad could be in line for a top 15 placing all time, is he was still undefeated. The fact is, we will never know how good he really is because the opposition simply isn't there. He hasn't beaten an elite heavyweight in his career and yet he has three stoppage losses. Not exactly the record of greatness but his record is deceptive. Sadly for him though, greatness isn't judge on how good you think a fighter is, it's about how good he proved he was. Wlad has not proven himself to be one of the 20 best heavyweights of all-time.

First I agree that obviously Klit is not going to win against any fighter in history. I will gladly put money on Frazier, Foreman, Ali, Lewis, Tyson, Holy and so on that they can kick his ass. But I think that the fact is that Klit has improved immensely after the losses and it should add value to his legacy. Some fighters are never the same after just one KO and he found the inert strenght to come back after three. I think that is what boxing and sport in general is all about. How you get up.

so everyone should go 65-0 ?

wlad has had about 18 heavyweight championship fights since then..purity has none... just saying

learning curve..without losses, some people dont become who they are

It was never claimed that people have to get to 65-0 to cement ATG status. But getting ****ed by purity sanders and brewsters, following which you fight like a spineless **** against overweight or overmatched fighters doesn't do much for anyone.

You post misconstruing piece of ****

No, not every loss for every champ can be justified or excused.

Wlad's loss to Sanders can't be justified or excused. It's a black mark.

    He WAS green in '98.

I didn't say anything about him being green in 2003 - in fact, my opinion was made very clear that there are NO excuses to be made for that loss.

I also sure as **** didn't say the problem in 2004 was that he was green. It was his first outing with a new trainer and he hadn't yet transitioned into the style that trainer had in mind for him. Had he learned to hold on and stall (Steward specialties) long before then, he might have made it longer than five rounds the first time against Brewster and very well may have won. Nothing to do with being green. That was never said, so how about you STFU and stop putting words in people's mouths.

    Actually, just STFU period. :good

W.Klit been koed 3 times and knocked down 8 times. I thought TOS was on his way to victory before the cut. W. Klit would have lost to most of the top 20 ATG's let alone top 10.
