So who wins this battle of all time greats ? I’m going with purity as I think he has the better chin but wouldn’t bet money either way

Butler was thrown in the deep end to learn to swim. Once he found his bearings he had a nice run in the early 90's. And he could pop. I've heard a couple guys who fought/sparred him say he had the heaviest of hands. I'm going to take that early 90's version of Lionel over the granite chinned Ross the Boss in this one.

Ross wins this i think. Too tough and cagey to be knocked out and Butler's best wins all came early in fights.
The Boss gets a late stoppage here - rounds 8/9

Good post. But I think the same can be said of both men . Purity was thrown in deep early and also put together a pretty good run in the 90s.

    Decision bout all the way.

I really like the Butler chances to get the W----when he was signed to dkp and on that winning streak of his . That version is not losing on the scorecards especially factoring in it would never be a high profile bout. Maybe 3rd on a big card or by itself and televised on like score or msg network or something. Not even an espn or usa cable telecast.

Gotta go with Ross. His track record is simply better

Puritty by late stoppage or close UD. Both were powerful with limited skills, but Puritty had an edge in durability and conditioning (huge one) therefore I think he would beat Butler in the second half of the fight

Ross. The guy stopped Wlad Klitschko.

Butler is a big puncher but Purritty is very durable he took the best of what Morrison, Wladimir, had to offer without going down.

I think I'd give Puritty the slight edge based on his size and durability Butler wasn't the most durable guy.
