He is very talented young heavyweight. Drew101 had good post. If he can manage that weight he Will be a factor at heavyweight. Fast hands, good skill level, I would hope he can lose another 15lbs we will see.

If you concider him a American, like a lot here do, he's probably the US' best prospect right now.
Plus he has a American heavyweight shape too, so I can't see the problem here.

The man weighed over 300 lbs. at one point in his life...if he were to lose 15 more lbs., it would actually be his ideal weight for his body type.

Physiques don't necessarily show whether or not you can box.

Andy Ruiz Jr, I would pick over a lot of heavyweights that are around today.

I would like to see him shed a few lbs and get it on with someone like Arreola for bragging rights in California. :deal

True physique doesn't mean everything... Hamer has a much better physique than Ruiz but will probably lose tonight. we'll see.

If Hamer does not get put down, he quits.

    I guarantee it.

Agreed. Hamer has some skills, but he doesn't have the heart to compete at the highest level if the sport. that quit job against Glazkov was pathetic.

He doesn't need to be cut, but god damn he looks like a slob. Better shape makes for a better fighter (within the individual).

This guy looks like he has Chavez Jr. for his S&C coach with James Toney for a nutritionist.

It doesn't, but when someone is carrying at least 40 to 50lbs of fat then it's going to cause problems. Ruiz is only 6ft 2" and people saying he only needs to lose 15lbs to get to his ideal weight (240lbs plus) are kidding themselves.

It's like Chris Arreola, this is a guy who weighed 180lbs at the age of 20 and then just 2 years later he turns up in the pro ranks weighing 240lbs, the weight is just fat.
