Peterson not turning it on. It looks like he could end it if he pleases. Casaneda strating to toss a few low ones. 60-54
Peterson starting to push the issue more now. Catches Casaneda with more uppercuts. casaneda wobbled a bit, but still throwing back. Peterson starting to run a bit during the final minute. i have it: 70-63
I wouldn't argue with a stoppage now. Casaneda obviously taking too much punishment, and he doesn't seem able to hurt Peterson. No need for it to continue too much longer. 80-72 Peterson
Peterson's close has been disappointing here. He has to know when the press the advantage. He's risking very little in this fight.
Casaneda is done. ref calls a halt at about 2:45 of the 9th. Good stoppage. Peterson looks like he has a good skill set. Not much of a puncher, but he has good speed. He just needs to get his head into the fight. He doesn't seem to willing to go into harms way when he's got his man hurt.
Corner was maybe a round or two late, but at least they did the right thing eventually by waving the towel. Time for Peterson to take the next step. He's only going to develop bad habits if he continues fighting guys like this. I'm not sure he's ready for Vivian Harris, as the Showtime guys suggested, but there are lots of guys who would be considerably better than anyone he has ever fought.
