Round 1 of Pac-JMM 2 was the Closest Round of their 24 rd Epic Showdown...

How anyone can give Pacquiao that rd is baffling to me.....

It was as even as you could get until the very end were Marquez caught him with a huge punch that rocked him, if that wasnt enough to take that rd then I give up.

Ps. the exact same for rd 2.

 

But it had nowhere near the same effect as JMMs punch - damage done wins the rd.

 

Why are you doing a thread about a rd that Marquez won ?
Is it perhaps to swing the fight in Pacquiao`s favour because it WAS a close fight afterall ? :think

doesnt even look like he connects in half of those gifs lol

you go by your initial thought and gut feelings at the time, you dont disect rounds second by second

but if we did that we'd see JMM won both fights!

 

it was not even. it looks even watching it live but seeing the replay pac was connecting more and was initiating the action. if not for jmm's one clean punch, this round would not be even up for debate.

FYI: the three judges all gave this round for pac. they have the much better view than us who viewed it via HBO tv.

 

The fight should have been a draw..... and rounds where there are not clear winners should be given as draw as well....

 

They have changed the rules.... They did it awhile ago, but it is wrong... in every round we shoud have a CLEAR WINNER if not possible to determne who won the round then the round should be an even round

 

Definite a won round by Pac. No doubt about it. Pac scored more punches hit on Marquez. But I think the 3rd round where Marquez was knocked down and held the ropes after that give the fight to Pacquioa in this close match.

 

Definitely a won round for Pac being the most active fighter. Pac scored more punches than Marquez. That the way how boxing is scored. But the 3rd round where Marquez suffered a knock down and a near knock down give the fight to Pac. The most decisive round, IMO>

 

I cant understand anyone with 20/20 vision not score that round for Pacman.
That round was no where near close, Pac presses the action the entire round and lands overwhelmingly more than JMM. JMM just waited to land that one big shot finally gets it but its no where near enough to catch up to Pac up to that point, he would of needed to land atleast 2 more similiar shots to have won that round.

For someone to score this round for JMM must mean that they probably scored a fight like Penalosa/Deleon 11 to 1 for Penalosa.
