    Doesn't necessarily explain it though.

At the end of six, their scores more or less reflected reality.
It was just how they got there that was screwed up.

That's ridiculous. That's 10-8 round any day. No way it's even 10-9 even though I hated the way Tank was holding.

I just explained it, Tank lost the round so 9 and Garcia got KD so 8.

at least that’s how it supposed to be, if you lose a round the highest score you can get is a 9 and if you get knocked down the highest score you can get is a 8.

Tank clearly lost the round since it was a flash knock down/Garcia wasn’t hurt but he did hit the floor so technically it should of been 9-8.

Weird round to score either way.

Moretti is bad at math obviously. Although I bet he can read his savings account today, which has more money in it today than it did yesterday.

There are very few anomalies in a fight where I can see a 10/9 with a KD. I’ve been watching and scoring fights for over 40 years and have scored like that maybe 4 or 5 times.

The majority of the time it’s 10/8 so how the FK they got 10/10 just shows the corruption for this fight was not in the corner of Tank on the cards.

Crazy! It was a normal 10-8 round. Garcia was doing alright but he got put down pretty hard.

Yeah I'm shocked to be hearing about this. 10-9 KD rounds are so rare and I can't recall the last even round I saw in Las Vegas (they happen all the time in the UK and other places), much less a KD round scored even.

It wasn't that big a round for RG, he was ahead, but then he got bopped. The key to really winning a round is not getting bopped.

He was ahead but he wasn't really doing the kind of damage required to avoid a 10-8 round.

10-10 is how they should score an even round (rather than 9-9), but they shouldn't have scored it an even round.

When I was a kid, "10 point must" meant something.

A KD is essentially a point, so why would Garcia go to 8?

It's a ten point must system, meaning that the winner has to get 10 points and the loser 9 or less. The only way a winner can get less than 10 is if they suffer a point deduction.

I called it 10-8 for Tank, personally, since I felt the knockdown was definitive enough to overcome Garcias [largely ineffective] aggression. I could see a case for 10-9, though.

The logic behind the judge's scoring is simple: Garcia was solidly leading in round two for almost the entire round (for like two and a half minutes). This makes it 10-9 usually. Then came the knockdown - when you're in knockdown you're one point deducted, so it becomes 9-9. Since it's a 10 points scoring system, the even rounds are scored 10-10 (unless you lead the round, but are deducted a point for breaking the rules in which case it becomes 9-9). Now some of you believe it should be 10-8 for Davis, but 10-8 with a knockdown is usually given when you lead the round and you score a knockdown, but this wasn't the case. In the predominant cases, the guy scoring the knockdown is usually the one winning the round, but this can't be 100% valid. Since a fight can be draw, why can't a round be?

Getting knocked down is 2 deduction points.

Agreed. It's pathetic and just shows you how badly the boxing powers wanted Garcia to become their new cash cow. Fortunately, it didn't happen.

It’s not so simple when it comes to a round like this, it’s true that is a 10 point must system but who’s getting 10 in round 2? Tank didn’t win the round and neither did Garcia, I’m not a fan of even rounds and neither won the round so 9-8 should be the score (if you go by how you’re supposed to score) but since none of the judges scored like that (one had it even) idk what to say, we almost never see rounds were one clearly is losing the round but manage to score a flash kd in the end. Hard round to score.
