Completely disagree. I have NEVER sen Floyd hold that agressively, ever. The first shot rung his bell, forced him to hold, and he went into shell mode for about 20 seconds after that. Mosely was desperately trying to pull his arm out of there, and Floyd was holding on for dear life. You don't do that if everything is ok. Keith
Fact is, Floyd got buzzed, but he dealt with it plain and simple. Some people may not like how he goes about certain things, but it got him through what could be argued as the stickiest point in his career, and he went on to dominate Shane. That folks, is perfect boxing, which ever way you slice and dice it.
It only took him about 10 seconds to regain his senses and try to walk down Shane. He did the right thing imo by standing in the pocket to smolder shane and trying to sneak in some body shots. The last 35 seconds were all Mayweather, despite Mosley hurting him with two big shots earlier in the round. The way the round ended would make you think nothing even happened to Floyd. Mosley is a great finisher, and he would have KO'd Floyd had he chose to run or just cover up. The sharks in the ocean can't get you if they don't smell your blood. Mayweather beat him psychologically by regaining control of that round. I was expecting to see Floyd down for the first time in his own career (I don't count the injured hand in the Hernandez fight), but he managed to whether the storm. This is what impressed me the most about the fight.
Awesome round. When I first saw this I actually thought Floyd's knee hit the canvas when he was blasted with the second big shot by Shane. At that point I thought it was over; Floyd looked completely hurt and staggered and I remember thinking he'd been exposed as a shitty fighter. I also chuckled at the thought of not hearing the end of it from Floyd's haters. The man wouldn't lie down though. I like how he didn't back peddle when he got stunned. Instead he moved forward to give himself a chance to tie up the arms or be in a position where Shane can't extend his arms to punch. Also credit hard work to be in great shape. You don't recover from that type of trouble that quickly when you are in average or below average shape.
at 1.45 marks its hilarious in the background, the 2 black dudes (one big one and one small one), were all over the place, and sat down and in like 1 mili second got back up again.
"shane is going to hit him in the mouth, floyd is going to grow wings and tail and start spitting fire balls" :good "shane will use lateral motion to get away from the fire balls, step on mayweather tale and step to the side and hit him in the stomach.because we are not going to lose just because he is spitting fire balls.":-(
The whole time I was watching the 2nd rd unfold in front of my eyes. I kept thinking to myself Mosley pulled a Jermain Taylor ala Taylor vs Pavlik I, and wasted a lot of energy trying to land those bombs to end it. Mosley saw his oppurtunity and went for it, but after that I knew it would be down hill. Mosley is a great fighter, in great condition, but he's still 38, and he was gassed. Now I give Mayweather credit he weathered the storm, but for those that don't think Mayweather was severly hurt are in denial. If Mayweather doesn't grab onto Mosley like a drunk chick at club. Who knows how the rest of the rd/fight would have unfolded but it also made me wonder what could have been if this fight took place a couple of years ago. When both fighters were in their prime. I give credit when credit is due, and Mayweather won, but I can't help but wonder "What if"?
