Round 2 was the last hurrah of Mosley's great career

Even though I anticipated a wide Mayweather win, probably 10-2 or 9-3, I didn't once think Mosley would look as bad as he did last night.

The second round was great for him. He proved that Mayweather could be hurt by a clean shot but by the final third of the round, he looked completely finished. There's a lot of questions as to why: Is he shot? Did he have stamina issues? Was he overtrained?

I think it's probably a combination of all three. The Margarito fight clouded a lot of peoples judgement on him, yet, as I said before, I don't think him beating Berto would have been a formality. Looking back on that prediction, I was right. I think I was right to suggest Williams, Pacquiao, Cotto and Clottey beat him too. Mosley clearly isn't elite any more despite the high P4P ranking and other plaudits, which were unjustified.

His stamina was shocking. To an extent, you can say Mayweather stopped him from throwing punches and that's true, but it's just one aspect of it. Everything about him from the third round onwards, was lethargic. He looked like he was in the Championship rounds after 5 minutes of fighting. His punches were slow when he threw them, his foot and body movement was off. Simply lethargic.

I did think watching it, that he was overtrained. Remember, he trained for the Berto fight before it being cancelled at short notice and had to go through camp again to prepare for Mayweather. It seems like it was too much and that amount of training hurts fighters.

Even if he was though, after that performance, he is done. There are no excuses to defend that performance and you can't delude yourself into thinking he can bounce back. He won't.

I don't know. It was sad to see Mosley like that and even before the fight, he seemed off. I made a thread after the first press conference wondering about his speech and that may not be far off. Listening to him get confused and nervously smiling all the time...it's not good.

I'm a big Mosley fan and I hope that's him done.

Ugh just one more right hand and maybe Floyd gets the 10 count.

I think Mosley can keep going against certain fighters. I think he wins a couple more than hangs them up, on a winning note.

Oh, I meant that's what I predicted before the fight, mate. I knew it would be one-sided, just that I didn't think Mosley would look so bad.

I gave Mosley one round and the first was pretty even. I did think Mosley may win two or three rounds before the fight though.

Who though? I see him beating Judah and maybe guys jumping up from light welter, but I can't see another big win in the future.

At the age of 38 it's going to be hard for him to get himself up for another big fight. I'd like to see him call it a day.

I agree. Even if Mosley could still compete at the top, I don't see him wanting to go through a really tough camp many more times.

He's had a fantastic career and I'm sure he has options now. I'd like to see him rest a while, help his son and then if he can't do it again, there's no point in returning.
