Agreed but will Khans chin take it? Did you see how much time his team took to warm up his neck before first bell Is he usally this open or only when he fights against people with limited power? It was the first Khan fight i watched and i had expected that he would have toyed and outclassed Kristjansen even more...
fair enough but it was no "tough fight" he was winning every round, it seems because of the Limond fight every time he gets hit cleanly, he's having trouble.
He won all rounds. Took some shots in the 6th but landed many more and brought the fight to another level in the 7th... He was't confused. He landed a little bit less, Kristjansen, who's got a good eye for boxing (but not enough power and speed) landed some (not many) shots and Khan reacted to it in the 7th: changed the pace and knocked him out. The only problem was that in the middle of his attack he threw a bit more punches than necesary, some illegal blows... Of course he was in the middle of the attack when he knocked Kristjansen down and he couldn't really tell actually when Kristjansen's gloves or knees touched the canvas, so Micky Vann should've stepped in and ruled as a KD earlier...
Khan has been beating some good competition for a guy with 16 or 17 fights. He seems to be on a whole different level than these type of fighters. He seems like a legitimate world class fighter in the making. If he can hang with someone who can punch. With almost all of his opponents having pretty low ko percentages and not being known as punchers you have to wonder why is that? It would be nice to see him face someone with a punch so we can find out.
I was shocked when Khan headbutted the Dane in the throat and got away with it, and then the way he bit him on the shoulder. Terrible stuff.
He warned him seriously, didn't let Amir to jump on Kristjansen for at least 15 seconds... Maybe a point deducion would've been the right call, I agree. But in the meantime (point deducion or not) I believe that Vann knew that it wasn't Khan's intention to hit him on the floor... he just kept throwing and throwing and Kristjansen melted down from his arms... it's hard to tell for a FIGHTER when does his opponent reaches the canvas especially if he's just focusing on landing the combos that's why we have a referee to step in. It's a whole different situation if A knocks down B in the middle of the ring with a clean punch, looks down and throws another one. Khan was just throwing, and at the moment when Kristjansen reached the canvas with his gloves, he should've stopped. But if a fighter is as excited as Khan, it's really the ref's job to step in... One point deducition would've been a correct rule as well, but stepping in earlier would've been the proper move from the referee...
This genie is going to be hard to stuff back into the lamp. I couldn't believe his corner had semi-autos hidden in the water bucket. The Dane didn't have a prayer!
That ITV commentator Rawling is desperate for Khan to lose. In the sixth round Khan was giving himself space and drawing Kristiansen onto him and apparently he is confused and gasping for breath. Khan had it in the bag. Agreed though, Khan needs to fight some guys with who do not have the reach of a midget. Earl, St Clair, Kristiansen, they all look like hobbits.
I don't see it like that at all. Katsidis gave Casamayor Hell, andwasthisclose from winning and he is nowhere as talented as Khan, not to mention Khan obliterated Earl. As for Campbell, we really still don't know how good he is. He looked great against Diaz after Diaz got cut, but even then, how we can forget his other performance, like to Peden for example. Khan is the real deal and seems prime to fight either of those guys.
